Jeanie’s Sunset Dance, 1976

At sunset the campers would gather on the beach. The kids would run around while most adults sat in quiet meditation.  Some would play music, dance, drum, do yoga or tai chi. On a point at the far end of the beach, where the sand, reef and water met, Jeannie MacGregor, a dancer from Canada, would regularly perform a salute to the setting sun, a slow and studied routine that incorporated ballet and yoga.
